Meet the artist

Janelle Lile is a mixed media and digital artist who grew up in the woods near Spokane, Washington, currently living and working near Seattle. Her semi-wild childhood informs her current body of work as she is drawn to nature and observing animals large and small. After watching multiple generations of swallows raising their families in the barn on her property and deer wandering daily through the pasture, drawings of birds and rabbits began to take over her sketchbook. She explores the relationship of humans to the wild and the moment of connection a person can feel to a wild creature.
